Couples: Relationships are complex. We all face challenges-whether it's communication issues, infidelity, trust concerns, or the stressors of everyday life. As a therapist trained in the Gottman Method, a research-based approach, I focus on helping couples develop functional communication, strengthen friendship and intimacy, and rebuild trust. I create a space where both partners can explore each other's perspectives while honoring their individual values. Click here to learn more about my approach!
Adolescents: As a former school counselor, I understand the unique challenges children and adolescents face—and the sense of isolation those challenges can create. Adolescents navigate constant change, pressure, and confusion. My goal is to support them in building self-awareness, confidence, and a strong sense of individuality, helping them feel more empowered in their daily lives.
Young Adults: The early to mid-twenties are often one of the most uncertain and transitional periods in life. Whether you're a college student or navigating the next steps in your personal or professional journey, I'm here to support you. Life’s challenges during this time can feel isolating and overwhelming, but seeking help is a powerful first step. You're in the right place.
My Therapeutic Style
I believe in exploring all parts of the self through a holistic, nonjudgmental approach that incorporates mindfulness techniques. There are no “bad” parts of us—every thought, habit, and tendency once served a purpose, even if it no longer does. Together, we’ll explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion.
I practice Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), guiding our work by helping you challenge unhelpful thoughts, providing practical tools, and uncovering deep-rooted beliefs—all while keeping your goals at the center of our journey. In couples work, I draw on my training in the Gottman Method, using research-based interventions to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and deepen connection.
About Caroline
I'm proud to be from Santa Cruz. I attended Santa Barbara City College before transferring to the University of California, Santa Barbara, where I earned a degree in Sociology and Applied Psychology. I completed my Master’s in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University, Los Angeles, with a specialization in Spirituality and Depth Psychology.
Throughout my life, maintaining a healthy work-life balance has been a challenge. As a high school and collegiate track athlete, I struggled with perfectionism and performance anxiety. During my master’s program, I trained for a marathon while working two jobs—an experience that pushed me to my limits. Over time, I’ve learned the importance of setting boundaries and prioritizing my well-being, lessons that continue to shape both my personal growth and professional approach.
I've come to appreciate the importance of self-care. I nurture my well-being by spending time in nature, engaging in environmental and social activism, and practicing mindfulness.
When I’m not in the office, you can find me walking or running through the forest, spending time with my female orange cat, Venus, or enjoying quality moments with family, friends, and my dog, Millie. I’m always up for a good fantasy escape with Harry Potter or The Lord of the Rings.
